FALL IS MICRONEEDLING SEASON - BUT IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT?

October 01, 2022 2 min read

Microneedling is a super hot treatment in the skincare world right now - and we are HERE FOR IT!! It is easily one of my favourite skin treatments and all because of the amazing results that my clients see!

What exactly is microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to puncture the skin to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin factors, vitamins, minerals, PRP and amino acids. In other words, Microneedling creates controlled “damage” to the skin which stimulates the body's repair process, resulting in rejuvenated & youthful skin. Microneedling works for all skin types, diminishes fine lines and wrinkles, improves skin tone and texture, reduces large pores, and facilitates product absorption. So basically, microneedling makes your skin smoother, plumper, and totally glowy - PLUS microneedling helps you get the most out of your skincare routine!

NOTE: Please don’t let the idea of needles scare you (eek - I totally get it)!! We always use a high-quality numbing cream to alleviate any pain and clients have said that the treatment is actually really relaxing. Microneedling is safe, highly effective, and has no downtime.

4 Reasons We Call Fall Microneedling Season:

 Minimal UV Exposure

During the healing process of microneedling it is very important to avoid prolonged sun exposure as the skin will temporarily be more sensitive to UVA/UVB rays. With shorter days and less time spent outdoors, Fall (and Winter!) are the perfect seasons to start microneedling!

No More Lake Days

Days spent out at the lake or poolside are amazing for soaking up the sun and enjoying some summer fun, however, lake water and pool water are a big no for freshly microneedled skin. You need to keep your skin clean and pampered as it heals to avoid infection and have the best results possible!

Patio Season Is Ending

As patio season comes to a close the temptation to snag a couple of unplanned alcoholic bevvies goes with it - which is only important because you don’t want to be drinking the day of or the night before your microneedling appointment. Alcohol acts as a blood thinner and can make you bleed more during the microneedling appointment, potentially reducing some of the positive benefits!

Gives Your Skin a Boost When it Needs it Most

Cooler seasons come with chilly temperatures, freezing winds, and indoor heating - all of which can leave skin dry, dull, and dehydrated. Microneedling is a great way to revitalize your skin and to help those serums and moisturizers penetrate deeper and work their magic!

What do you think? Have we convinced you to give microneedling a try or do you still have some reservations? Book in with me for a treatment or a free skin consultation - I would love to chat and get to know you and your skin!
